Christine L. Venus

Christine Louise Venus, 77, of New Kensington, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Forbes Hospital, Monroeville after a prolonged illness. She was born October 20, 1945 in Harrison Township to the late Harold and Josephine (Marangoni) Slicker. Christine lived most of  her life in Apollo and the past 11 years in New Kensington. She worked in Customer Service at CVS for a number of years and was of the Presbyterian faith. Christine graduated from Apollo High School and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and reading.

            Survivors include her children Melissa (Eric) Stiver, of New Kensington and David E. Venus, of Verona. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Dena Haire, of San Diego, CA, sister-in-law Linda Slicker, of Apollo and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John E. Venus in 2020, son Jeffery Haire and a brother William Slicker.

            Visitation Thursday from 2 PM until the time of service at 6:30 PM in Duster Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. with Rev. Gregory L. Spencer, officiating. Burial will be private.
