Daniel R. Vakulick

Daniel R. Vakulick, 20, of Tarentum, passed away as a result of a furnace explosion at Braeburn Steel on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. He was born September 10, 2004 in Harrison Township. Son of Amanda B. Anderson, of Buffalo Twp, and the late Daniel Vakulick who passed away in 2023. Daniel lived most of his life in Buffalo Twp. and was a maintenance technician for Braeburn Alloy’s Steel, Lower Burrell for 2 years where he was a member of USW Local 1324-03. He was of the Baptist faith and a 2023 graduate of Freeport High School. Daniel enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially loved his cars. 

 Survivors include his mother, Amanda B. Anderson and her companion Jerry Andrew Lowe, of Buffalo Twp.; siblings Makenna A. Vakulick and Logan Lee, of New Kensington, Danika K. Vakulick, of Sarver, Presley M. Vakulick, of Sarver, Memphis O. Samay, of Sarver, Scottlynn G. Anderson, of Sarver and step brother Nick Lowe, of Export and Daniel’s girlfriend Olivia Lowe, of New Kensington. Also surviving are his grandmothers LaRue A. Samay, of Sarver and Rosemarie Vakulick, of Brackenridge. Aunts and Uncles Kenneth M. (Sue) Samay, of Freeport, Richard (Janis) Taliana, of Fawn Twp., Laura (Dan) Mazza, of Fawn Twp., William (Michele) Vakulick, of Sarver, Richard Vakulick, of Brackenridge, Jamie (Edward) Gorney, of Natrona Heights and numerous cousins. Besides his father he was preceded in death by his grandfathers Richard E. Vakulick, Kenneth R. Samay, uncle Stephen G. Vakulick and a great uncle Andrew Sakala.
