Diane Irvine, 70, of Saxonburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, March 29, 2026. Born on August 16, 1955, in Natrona Heights, Diane was the beloved daughter of the late William and Kathleen (Black) Thompson. She was raised in Fawn Township and graduated from Highlands High School in 1974. Shortly after graduation, Diane married the love of her life, Stephen L. Irvine, Sr., in February of 1975. Together they built a life rooted in family, laughter, and unwavering devotion, sharing 51 wonderful years of marriage. Diane was a proud and dedicated mother to Lorilee Irvine (Ryan Zukowski) and Stephen (Carrie) Irvine, Jr., both of Freeport. She was a deeply loving grandmother to Benjamin, Kate, Carter, Waylon, and Inelia, whom she loved to spoil with candy and brought her endless joy. Besides her husband Stephen L. Irvine, Sr., she is also survived by her siblings: Robert Thompson; Kathy “Sue” (Mike) Walters; Ronald (Mary Sue) Thompson; and Donald “Luke” (Marcia) Thompson and sister-in-law Patty Thompson. Diane will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, as well as her dear best friend, Barb Thrower, and "extra son", neighbor Robert Siegel. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother William Thompson and sister-in-law Linda Thompson. Diane spent her later years working for the South Butler School District, where she was known for her reliability, and strong work ethic. She retired in 2021. She had a deep love for life’s simple joys, time spent at camp, relaxing beach vacations, driving her 1974 Trans-Am, cheering from the sidelines at soccer games, and, most of all, being surrounded by her grandchildren. Diane had a vibrant personality and a one-of-a-kind sense of humor; she was truly a character who brought laughter wherever she went. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love, laughter, and memories she created will live on in all who knew her.
