Donald E. Christie

Donald E. Christie, 72, of Tarentum, passed away at home Saturday, April 21, 2018 following a lengthy illness. He was born March 2, 1946 in Harrison Twp., to the late Raymond and Julietta (Adams) Christie. Prior to living in Tarentum Donald lived in Fawn Twp. and Natrona Heights. He was a mechanic for Unifirst Co, New Kensington for many years. Donald was of the Protestant faith and a life member of Fawn Twp. Fire Dept. #2. He graduated in 1964 from Har Brack High School and enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Pittsburgh Steelers, NASCAR racing and especially his family.

            Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Rhoda Marie (Pacek) Christie, children Michael A. Christie, West Deer Twp., Donna J. Duke, Buffalo twp., Timothy D. (Joni) Christie, Templeton and Marci (James) Phelan, North Versailles; grandchildren Austin Phelan and TJ Christie. Also surviving are his siblings Bertha Cain, Freeport, Hazel (Donald) Smith, Fawn Twp., John Christie, Florida and Esther Zabinski, Freeport. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Raymond Christie and Sister Laura Callen.
