Dorothy I. Orait

Dorothy I. (Gohn) “Gidget” Orait, 67 of Tarentum, passed away on July 16, 2026 in Shadyside Hospital surrounded by her family. Dorothy graduated in 1978 from Highlands High School. She enjoyed doing crafts, yard work, and planting her flowers. She enjoyed spending her free time fishing at Lake Erie with her husband. Dorothy loved to dance whenever she could. Dorothy loved her two dogs, Halo and Massie. She liked helping out people in need.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Rich B. Orait of Tarentum; her sons, Michael (Annie) Orait of Tarentum, and Brian (Stephanie) Orait of Natrona Heights; her sister, Loretta (Gohn) (Chuck) Richey of Claridge and her brothers, William E. “Budge” Gohn of Buffalo Twp., Arthur K. (Kim) Gohn of Saltsburg, Richard A. (Sally) Gohn, Sr. of Kittaning, Albert E. Gohn and his companion, Heather Laughlin of Fawn Twp.; her mother, Ruth (Gohn) Ikenberg of Buffalo Twp.; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Dorothy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law, Susan Orait of New Kensington.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, William M. “Shorty” Gohn, her daughter, Tamara Lynn of Tarentum, and her brother, Leon E. Gohn of Buffalo Twp.

Dorothy will be missed and loved by many.
