Dr. Robert P. Bengel, 85, of Lower Burrell, PA and Ft. Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. He was born August 2, 1940, in New Kensington, PA, son of the late George and Genevieve (Vent) Bengel. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Charles Morrow, his sister Dolores (Bengel) Morrow, his brother-in-law Donald Miller and his niece Terry (Bengel) Berry. Dr. Bob was a 1958 graduate of Arnold High School. After graduation, he attended Moline College in Illinois and then went on to Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic. He joined the Army Reserve after graduation from Palmer Chiropractic College and after his discharge proceeded to open his chiropractic office in Brackenridge, PA in 1963. Dr. Bob was passionate about helping other people and over his 40 years as a chiropractor, helped thousands of people back to health. He was a skilled athlete in high school, but his true sports passion was golf where he loved playing often with family and friends. Dr. Bob was a long-time member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church of New Kensington, PA. He was also a long-time member of Brackenridge Heights Country Club, a member of the Seven Springs Ski Safety Patrol and for the past 15 years, he enjoyed spending time at his vacation home in Florida, where he was a member of Colonial Country Club. He was a founding member of the Chiropractic Life Fellowship, a member of the International Chiropractic Association and the Knights of Columbus. Dr. Bob is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Patricia (Capo) Bengel, his siblings, Donald (Judy) Bengel and Kathleen Miller; his children, Eric (Carolyn) Bengel, Todd (Heidi) Bengel and Alyssa (Michael) Kuder; grandchildren, Eric Bengel, Alexis Bengel, Hanna Thomas, Sydney Kuder, Mason Kuder, Reese Kuder, Emmalynn Bengel and Sophia Bengel as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Christian Funeral Mass Friday October 24, 2025 at 10 AM at Mt. St Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington.
