Elizabeth A. McElroy

January 18, 1959 — February 23, 2023

Our dear Mother, Elizabeth A. McElroy sadly passed away on February 23rd, 2023 at St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh following a lengthy illness. She was born January 18, 1959 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Thomas Hallwirth and Elva A. (Ginzer) Tafoya. She lived most of her life in Cheswick and Harmar and was a cook for Fox Chapel, High School. Elizabeth was of the Christian faith and a 1977 graduate of Plum High School.

 

 

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer J. Conklin (Idaho), her son Michael L. McElroy (Pittsburgh), son in law Ricky W. Nelson (Idaho), granddaughter Jazmyn-Royale J. Haskins (Idaho), Josaphine S. Trotta (Idaho), Victoria S. Trotta (Idaho). Also surviving are her siblings, Thomas (Lynn) Hallwirth, Robert J. Hallwirth, of Harwick and Susan Lynn Hallwirth, of Natrona Heights; niece Alley L. Hallwirth, of Natrona Heights and nephew Jonathan Hallwirth, of New Kensington. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Darlene Ginzer.

 

She was a patient, kind and loving mother and grandmother. She was always there when we needed her. She was always there to listen and give advice. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining her friends and family. 

She was a loyal friend, she had many friends and enjoyed riding motorcycles in her younger years.  

 

To the world, you were one person, but to us, you were the world. You’re one of the most beautiful souls anyone could ever meet. We're going to miss you so very much, Mum/Grandma.
