Elizabeth Simak Walsh, a devoted homemaker and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, surrounded by her family and the memories of a life well-lived.

Born to the late Casper Simak Sr. and Mary (Volny) Simak, Elizabeth was a proud graduate of East Deer High School, Class of 1948. She spent her life creating a warm and welcoming home, defined by her love of music, film, and the culinary arts. To know Elizabeth was to have tasted her kitchen's finest treasures; her orange cookies and banana cake were legendary, serving as the centerpiece of countless family gatherings.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Bruce C. Walsh, and her beloved daughter, Sharon L. (Walsh) Scheerbaum. She was also the sister of six brothers—Casper Jr., Steven, Philip, Louis, John, and Robert—and three sisters —Anna Sieg, Mary Eiler, and Helen Campbell —all of whom preceded her in death.

Her legacy of kindness and tradition is carried on by her sister, Theresa Kolan, and numerous nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her granddaughter, Colleen Elizabeth Scheerbaum, who loved and cared for Elizabeth with unwavering devotion throughout her life, especially in her final years. The bond they shared was one of profound love and mutual strength.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Elizabeth’s life on March 23, 2026, from 5 to 8 pm at Duster’s Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., 347 E 10th Ave. Tarentum, 724-224-1526. A Mass of Christian Burial will held Tuesday March 24, 2026 at 10am in Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights. Burial will be at Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
