Gayle McCurdy, 94, of Natrona Heights, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the home of her daughter, Bonnie surrounded by her family. She was born September 15, 1926 in Tarentum, to the late William Frank and Florence (Wolferd) Burtner. Gayle lived her entire life in Tarentum and Natrona Heights where she was a homemaker and also was a Teacher’s Aide in the elementary schools for Highlands school district from 1965-76. She was a member of Trinity Unity Methodist Church, Brackenridge. Gayle volunteered for Meals on Wheels where she did cooking and delivery. She graduated in 1945 from Tarentum High School and enjoyed cooking, baking and loved sports of all kinds. Gayle enjoyed spending time with her family and especially enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Larry E. (Ginny) McCurdy, of South Park, Jeffrey L. (Janet) McCurdy, and Bonnie (Alan) Fisher, both of Natrona Heights. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 4 adopted grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Glenn L. McCurdy who passed September 1, 2012, and her siblings William F. Burtner and Betty Hallden.
Visitation for Gayle will be private in Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. However, relatives and friends are invited to attend services, Monday at 11 am in Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge with Rev. Gregory L. Spencer, officiating. Burial will be private in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
