George E. Herbulock, 81, of New Kensington, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the VA Hospital, Aspinwall. He was born May 14, 1937 in Harrison Township to the late George E. and Helen (Rusnock) Herbulock, Sr. George lived the past 31 years in New Kensington and prior to that in Brackenridge. George was a Slitter at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., West Leechburg. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1957-1961 and a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington. George graduated from Har Brack High School in 1956 and received a certificate in automotive repairs from Val Tech, Blairsville in 1961. He enjoyed fishing, especially his annual fishing trip to Oil Creek. He also enjoyed golfing, sports and was an avid Steelers fan. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and all of their accomplishments.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Leona A. (Paz) Herbulock; children Edward J. (Susan) Herbulock, Torrance, CA, David L. (Anita) Herbulock, Upper Burrell and Karen L. (Perry) Giovannelli, Allegheny Township; grandchildren Noah, Bria and Lily Giovannelli and Hailey, Helaina and Hadyn Herbulock. Also surviving are his sisters Joann Kwiatek and Jean (John) Sennett, both of Lower Burrell, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Sunday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Prayers of transfer will be held on Monday at 9:15 AM at the funeral home followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Mt. St. Peter R.C. Church, New Kensington with Monsignor Michael J. Begolly, officiating. Burial is planned for a later date in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Alzheimer’s Association, Pgh. chapter, alz.org. VISIT: dusterfh.com
