George R. Klingensmith

         George R. Klingensmith, 73, of New Kensington, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at UPMC Harrisburg. He was born March 11, 1950 in Harrison Township to the late George and Mary (Oravitz) Klingensmith. George lived the past 5 years in New Kensington and prior to that Tarentum. He was a Head Crane man for 45 years at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., Brackenridge. George was a Vietnam veteran serving in the USMC. He was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Campus, Natrona Heights and a 1968 graduate of Har Brack High School. George enjoyed all Pittsburgh sports, fishing and teaching his grandson about baseball.

            Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carole A. (Alberts) Klingensmith; his children Jason A. (Kathleen) Klingensmith, of Oakdale, PA and Kelly M. (Justin) Doverspike, of Freeport. Also surviving are his grandchildren Benjamin Klingensmith, Kira, Zach and Kate Klingensmith, Lincoln Doverspike and his sister Linda Zezewicz, of Towanda, PA. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Gene Klingensmith and Karen Klingensmith.

            Christian funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 am in Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Campus, Natrona Heights. Burial will follow in Mt.
