George E. Poole, Jr., 69, of Arnold, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026 after a valiant battle with lung cancer. He was born October 30, 1956, in Natrona Heights to the late George E. and Ora B. (Washington) Poole, Sr.

George retired after 22 years from ATI/Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., Brackenridge where he worked labor, furnace heater technician, crane repairman and maintenance. He was a union member and treasurer for the retirees. He was proud of the time he served in the US Army. He was an active member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church where he served as a Trustee, Usher, Chair and Co-Chair of Men’s Day. He was part of the audio-visual team and worked maintenance and upkeep of the church. George was dedicated, committed and had a heart of service and he was our Unsung Hero.

He was also involved with NAACP, local politics, Zoning board of Arnold. George enjoyed cars, audio and electronics, Gospel and Jazz music and sports. Researching, everything, game nights and traveling. But most of all he enjoyed time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Michelle Coleman- Poole, of Arnold; his children Chanell (Nick) Durant, of GA, Jasmine Poole (Rex), of Germany, Donovan Manley, of Germany, Jarrett (Karla) Coleman Boxley, of New Kensington, Hunter Poole (Czerina), of IL and Tiara Manley, of TX; grandchildren David (deceased), Christopher, Sean, Jalen and Jesse. Also surviving are his siblings, Louvenia “Pennye” Mitchell, of CA, Janice Johnson, of Tarentum, Carolyn Godson, of Harwick, Georgia “Denise” Pompey, of Harrisburg, Carl (Angi) Belcher, of Harrisburg, mother in law Carolyn Coleman, of New Kensington; Aunts, Uncles, nieces nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved sister Clavetta Ziegler.

Relatives and friends will be received Thursday July 9, 2026 from 3-7PM at Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Additional visitation will be held on Friday July 10, 2026 from 10 AM until the time of the Funeral services at 11 AM at Bethel AME Church, 250 7th & Western St, Tarentum with Rev. Linda Moore and Rev. Darryl Johnson, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. VISIT: dusterfuneralhomeinc.com
