George Larry Rosenberg, MD

            George Larry Rosenberg, MD., 73, of Natrona Heights, passed away at home, Sunday, May 14,2023. He was born in Opa Locka, Florida, to Henry and Winnie Opal (Speed) Rosenberg, on December 12, 1949. He graduated from North Miami High School in 1967, and then from Brigham Young University with a BS in Zoology in 1973. He graduated with his MD from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1977, followed by an internship in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Public Health Service for 3 years in Texas and Oklahoma, then completed his OB-GYN residency at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He was practicing physician in Natrona Heights, PA for over 30 years.

            Dr. Rosenberg took a break from college to serve a 2-year mission in Sweden for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Over the years, he served in many capacities for the Church, including Bishop of the Freeport Ward and President of the Pittsburgh North Stake. He was serving as a Senior Service missionary at the time of his passing.

            He married the former Wendy Lee Whearley in 1972. They are the proud parents of 8 children, Kjell (Susan) Rosenberg, of Churubusco, Indiana, Jared (Dara) Rosenberg, of Pearland, TX, Julie (Jared) Trent, of Saudi Arabia, Carrie (Stephen) Gardner, of Tarpon Springs, FL, Joshua (Kate) Rosenberg, of Colorado Springs, CO, Michael (Whitney) Rosenberg, of Colorado Springs, CO, Matthew Rosenberg, of Natrona Heights and Bryan (Hannah) Rosenberg, of Orem, UT. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren.

            Visitation  for Dr. Rosenberg will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday in Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10^th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Services will be held Saturday at 10 AM in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sarver. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.  Burial will be in Freeport Cemetery.
