George D. Turner, 86 formerly of New Kensington and Arnold passed away Sat, Sept 30, 2017 at Saxony Health Center, Saxonburg where he was a resident the past 8 years. Born Jan 3, 1931 in Arnold to the late George D. and Elizabeth (Roberts) Turner, Sr. George was a truck driver for PPG Industries in Creighton for 30 yrs and lived most of his life in New Kensington and Arnold and spent some time in East Deer Twp. He was of the Protestant Faith and was a member of Vintage Auto Club of America, and the Classic Chevrolet Club. George also owned a used car lot in Arnold, and did auto repairs and was very much into stock car racing, and vintage Chevrolet’s. His survivors include his wife of 65 yrs, Nancy L. (Simpson) Turner, his two daughters, Linda Ann (Donald) Henry, Buffalo Twp. and Sandra Kathryn (Alex) Spiering of Lower Burrell; grandchildren James (Heather) Henry, Kenneth (Lisa) Henry, Pastor Clint (Karla) Phillips, Brandy Spiering and fiancée Tyler Weyandt; great grandchildren Bailie Henry, Madison Henry, Avery Henry, Sarah Phillips, Isaiah Phillips and step great grandchildren Emma and Liam Dunn. Also surviving is a sister Ellen Barch, Fairfax, VA. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Hazel Booher and Betty DeMao. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where services will be held on Wednesday at 11AM with his grandson Pastor Clint Phillips, officiating.
