Gilbert Lee Forsman

Gilbert Lee Forsman, 81 of Lower Burrell passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Concordia of Fox Chapel. He was born August 11, 1942 in New Kensington to the late Herbert and Grace (Beatty) Forsman. Gilbert lived most of his life in Lower Burrell. He taught Math and was a Guidance Counselor at Apollo Ridge High School for 38 years, retiring in 2002. Gilbert was a 1960 graduate of Ken High and served in the ROTC at IUP and in Germany during Vietnam War. He received his Masters from WVU and was President of PASR, PA, retired teachers. He attended Maranatha Bible Church of New Kensington and First Baptist Church of Upper Burrell where he was a Deacon and treasurer. Gilbert had a love for photography and was always taking pictures at family functions. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Gilbert especially loved spending time with his children and granddaughters. The family would like to thank Concordia of Fox Chapel for their care and support.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores (Decroo) Forsman, married on June 14, 1969 and have been married for 54 years. His Children Melinda Jean Forsman, of Lower Burrell, Keith G. Forsman, of Mt. Washington and Matthew D. Forsman (Kristie), of Indiana Township; granddaughters Abigail Larko and Kenidee and Reese Forsman. Also surviving are his siblings Ron (Barbara) Forsman, of New Kensington, Sandra (Steve) Sokol, of Cheswick and Lynette (Robert) Tress, of Enola, PA; 1 niece, 7 nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his in laws Benjamin and Mildred Decroo.

Visitation 2-5 PM Sunday in Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10^th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Services will be held on Monday at 11 AM in First Baptist Church, Upper Burrell, with Pastor Timothy L. Kitchen, officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
