Gloria Micozzi, a lifelong resident of the Allegheny Valley, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and deep love for her family. Born on June 29, 1933, in Natrona Heights, Gloria spent 88 years in her cherished home in Brackenridge, where she built a life centered on service and family. Gloria devoted 49 years to the nursing profession, touching countless lives with her care and kindness. She graduated from the Allegheny Valley School of Nursing in 1954 and went on to spend the majority of her career at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville. Her commitment to her patients and colleagues remained unwavering until her retirement in 2003. Even in retirement, Gloria stayed connected to her profession through her active involvement in the Allegheny Valley Hospital Nurses Alumni Association. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Assunta Micozzi and Marc Antonio Micozzi, as well as her sisters, Cecilia Marsico and Augustine Fleck. Gloria is lovingly remembered by her 13 nieces and nephews and 20 great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she held close to her heart. She found great joy in traveling and treasured the simple but meaningful tradition of Sunday meals with her family, where stories, laughter, and love were always abundant. Gloria’s life was one of quiet strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to others. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
