H. Edward "Ed" Artman

1. Edward “Ed” Artman, Jr., 72, of Rural Valley, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 at UPMC Hospital, Altoona. He was born May 9, 1949 in Harrison Township to the late Harry E. and Pauline (Myers) Artman. Ed lived most of his life in Natrona Heights and the past 18 years in Rural Valley. He was a warehouse man for Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., Brackenridge retiring after 30+ years. Ed was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Tarentum, Oregon Club, Brackenridge and the Tarentum Eagles. He was a 1967 graduate of Har Brack High School and a 1971 graduate of Penn State University. Ed was an avid golfer and enjoyed all sports, he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

            Survivors include his sister Terri (Tom) Wells, of Ross Twp.; his children Elaine (Steve) DePastino, of S. Buffalo Twp., Roy Cornetti, of New Mexico, Valerie (Michael) Shane, of Arnold and Brenda (Richard) Thimons, of Brackenridge, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a sister-in-law Brenda Wyant (David) and cousins Fred and Ginny Claypoole. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Karen E. (Claypoole) Artman in 2018.

            Visitation Saturday 2-4 PM and 6PM until the time of service at 7Pm in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10^th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 with Rev. Robert J. Henry, officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to National Wildlife Foundation.
