Harvey J. Michael

Harvey J. Michael, 88, of Fawn Township, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 2, 2018. He was born June 3, 1930 in Fawn Twp. to the late Wilbur and Gertrude (Jones) Michael. Harvey lived his entire life in Fawn Twp. He was a Millwright at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., Brackenridge for 43 plus years. Harvey was a member of the former St. Paul German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tarentum and was the oldest member of Highland Hose Co. and Eagles both of Tarentum, Outdoor Life Lodge, Fawn and the NRA. Harvey was a 1948 graduate of Tarentum High School. He taught pistol protection classes for the NRA, was a Boy Scout Troop Leader for 396 and received the Silver Beaver award. Harvey enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, travelling and his camp in Marionville.

            Survivors include his wife of 67 years Marcella (Negley) Michael; children John D. (Betty Jean) Michael, Natrona Heights, Alison Jill (Greg) Pollock, West Deer Twp., Joelene S. Hess, Freeport and Jody S. Michael and fiancée Michele Monroe, Allegheny Twp.; 8 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren , 5 great grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren. Also surviving is a number of nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Wilbur C. Michael and Betty Bain.

            Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday in Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10^th Ave, Tarentum 724-224-1526 where services will be held on Friday at 11 AM with Pastor Shawn Smith, officiating.
