Helen L. Flowers

Helen L. Flowers, 98, formerly of Brackenridge, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Saxony Health Care Center, Saxonburg. She was born May 5, 1920 in Tarentum to the late John and Mary (Stamm) Momberger. Helen lived the past 4 ½ years at Saxony and prior to that she grew up in Tarentum, graduating from Tarentum High School in 1938 and also lived for a time in Brackenridge. She was a homemaker and was of the Protestant faith. Helen was a member of the Brackenridge American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching sports; her sons play baseball, playing cards, the Pittsburgh Pirates and dancing to big band music.

            Survivors include her sons Robert A. (Jacquelyn) Flowers, Arnold, Thomas G. (Pat) Flowers, Oil City and Edward L. (Joyce) Flowers, Brackenridge. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph F. Flowers in 2000, brothers Ed and Carl Momberger and sisters Edith Grossman and Dorothy Rausch.

            At the request of the family there will be no public visitation, however there will  be a family Memorial Service Monday, Sept. 24, 2018 at 11 AM in First United Presbyterian Church, Tarentum, with Rev. Philip A. Beck, officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge. In lieu of flowers, donations to FUPCT.ORG. VISIT: dusterfh.com
