James Birch, 77, of Polk, PA, Irwin Township, Venango Co., passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025 in the Emergency Room of Butler Hospital. He was born December 9, 1947 in Harrison Twp., to the late Frank F. and Ethel L. (Selmek) Birch, Jr. James lived most of his life in East Deer Twp. And Venango County. He was a private investigator in the Pittsburgh area and a former chief of police for East Deer Township. James was a Vietnam war veteran serving in the US Navy. He was a graduate of Har Brack High School and enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an automobile enthusiast.
Survivors include his sons James M. Mull and Jason M. Mull, both of Wheeling, WV. Also surviving are his good friends, Theodore and Laurie Kevana, Jr., of East Deer Twp. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Frank F. Birch, III.
