James H Karns

            James H. Karns, 70, of Natrona Heights passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Concordia following a brief illness. He was born October 13, 1947 in New Kensington to the late Grant and Ruth  ( Shaul)  Karns. James has lived the past 33 years in Natrona Heights. He was a Quality Control Supervisor at PPG Paint Division, Springdale for 43 years before retiring in 2010. He was of the Christian faith and a 1965 graduate of Springdale High school. James also attended Slippery Rock University for a year and was a sports fan. He especially enjoyed working out at Planet fitness every day.

            Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Hope M. (Hilliard) Karns; children James F. Karns and fiancée Annette Boop, Fawn Twp., Joseph (Oksana) Slocik, Dayton, OH and Holly Bowyer, Orlando, FL; grandchildren Sara, Kaitlyn, Alexis, Claudia, Alex, Allison and Luke. Also surviving is a sister Marlene Haggerty, Brackenridge. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Grant “Toby” Karns.
