Janet L. Beresik

           Janet L. Beresik, 69, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born September 27, 1953 in Harrison Township to the late Harry H. and Louise (Helgert) Shoemaker. Janet lived most of her life in Brackenridge where she was in Sales Marketing for the Valley News Dispatch for 30 years. She was a member of Generations House of Worship, Brackenridge and met monthly with her high school classmates. Janet was a 1971 graduate of Highlands High School and enjoyed baking, cooking and going to the casinos.

           Janet loved her nieces and nephews very much and always made them feel special not just around the holidays but throughout the year. Her great nieces and nephews were dear to her heart and showed them love in special ways throughout the year as well. She loved to snuggle Mia her sweet dog, and stay connected with her family and friends.

            Survivors include her siblings Kent (Josie) Shoemaker, of Mars, Karen Malinoski, Clark (Robin) Shoemaker and Jay (Rose) Shoemaker, all of Natrona Heights, Barry (Janet) Shoemaker, of Cooks Forest and her fiancé Fred Sherick, of Oil City. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much and always made them feel special. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Beresik and three brothers Tom, Harry and Allen Shoemaker.
