Joan E. Fiedler, 80, of Fawn Township and formerly of DuBois, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born August 7, 1938 in Elizabeth, PA to the late Charles W. and Flora (Frye) McMahon, Sr. Joan lived the past 12 years in Fawn Township and prior to that Dubois for 30 years. She was a homemaker and also worked at Brockway Glass for a number of years and was also owner/operator of Joan’s Fine Art in Pittsburgh Mills. Joan was of the Baptist faith and a former member of Elks in Indiana and the Eagles in Falls Creek. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with family.
Survivors include her children, Joni (Jacques) Wagner, New Kensington and G. Allen (Robin) Fiedler, Jr., Indiana; granddaughter Cathy (Jason) Hladney, New Kensington, great granddaughters Madelyn and Julianne Hladney. Also surviving is a brother Herbert McMahon, Philadelphia. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Glen A. Fiedler, Sr. 12/9/17; brothers Charles W. McMahon, Jr. and Howard McMahon, sisters Virginia Wylie, Louise Krajewski and an infant sister.
Visitation 1PM until the time of service at 3 PM Sunday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 with Pastor David A. Hefferan, officiating.
