Joan R. Jack, 86 formerly of New Kensington and Natrona Heights, Pa. Passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Clemmons, NC, where she had lived the past 4 years.
Joan was born in West Penn Hospital , Pgh,Pa. to the late Cecelia Jaskierny & Robert Francis Sherlock. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the New Kensington Eagles 533.
Joan was a homemaker but also worked for many local A & P stores. She served as a Hospice volunteer locally as well as at the inpatient facility at Forbes Hospice. Most recently she volunteered at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center on 1-D.
Joan enjoyed her loving children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and her many treasured friends. She also loved cooking, baking, dancing, crossword puzzles, and exercising at the YMCA.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin “Bud” Jack in 1994, her Mother Cecelia (Jaskierny) Sztejter in 1973, Step Father Chester Sztejter in 1989, also her grandmother Laura (Czolba) Heid, and Step Grandfather Joseph Heid.
She is survived by four children, John G. (Susan) Armstrong, St. Mary’s WVA, Sharon L. Muscatell (Robert) Bulley, Mechanicsburg, Pa. Chester L. (Beth) Jack, Cranberry Twp, Pa. and Pam (Dave) Vinesett, Lexington,NC. She is also survived by 14 Grand, 15 Great Grandchildren, and several Cousins.
Visitation will be Sat,Dec 1st from 11AM until the time of the Blessing Service at 2:00PM in the Duster Funeral Home,Inc.347 East 10th Avenue, Tarentum, PA.Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, PA.
