John R. Ladie, 70, of Natrona Heights, passed away, Monday, January 19, 2026 at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born January 20, 1955 in Natrona Heights, to the late Harold and Dorothy (McCullough) Ladie. John lived his entire life in Natrona Heights and was a graduate of Highlands High School. John was a retired machinist for ATI, Brackenridge. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and vacations with family and friends. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, trap shooting and was a member of Ford City Sportsman’s Club, where he made a lot of great friends. John enjoyed spending time at camp, gardening, feeding/watching birds, canning, trying new recipes and smoking meats and cheeses. He loved teaching the kids to fish and do new things; John would talk to anyone to find a good fishing spot. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle, patient, and thoughtful man and will be missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Darcy (Heasley) Ladie; children Carlene (Jeff) Concoly, Jodi Ladie (Brad Woods); grandchildren Kenley Woods, Grayson Woods, Camden Woods, Ashlee (Jeff) Gumkowski, Justin (Allison) Concoly and Shawna (Joshua) Concoly and great grandchildren John Concoly, Madelyn Gumkowski and newest great granddaughter due in March 2026. Also surviving are his brother’s, William (Carol) Ladie, James (Donna) Ladie and Tom (Bridgette) Ladie as well as many loving nieces, nephews and many long-time friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son John T. Ladie.
