John M. Figler, 68, of Tarentum, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. He was born February 23, 1955 in Harrison Twp. to the late John and Julia (Semko) Figler. John lived most of his life in Tarentum and was a member of St. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Tarentum. He was a 1973 graduate of Highlands High School and an Offset Pressman and Lithographer for the former Schiff Inc. of Pittsburgh. John was a member of Tarentum Fraternal Order of Eagles 699 and chaplain of the Eagle Riders. He was also a proud Eagle Scout from Birdville Troop 186, and was one of the founders of the Tarentum Model Ship Society. He was an avid motorcycle rider, enjoyed scale model building, building and running radio controlled boats, and also enjoyed slot car racing at the former R-Geo Raceways.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years Margaret E. (Chelko) Figler; his daughters Stephanie A. Figler and Diane E. (Matthew) Wilmot, both of Tarentum. Also surviving is his sister Sandra J. Recker, of Duncansville and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Robert J.
