John H. Williams

September 9, 1939 — January 11, 2024

Tarentum

The sun was rising January 11, 2024 just about 8:40am, under a beautiful blue sky and warm sunshine our Husband, Dad and Grandfather, John H. Williams passed away at his home after a prolonged illness of 15 years, while comforted by his family and friends.

John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jerry (Bargerstock) Williams, His Son John C (Gayle) Williams. Of Clinton Twp.,  David H (Tammy) Williams, Brackenridge and Daughter Rebecca (Ronald) Maholic Jr. of Frazer Twp.

Also surviving John are his Grandchildren David S. Williams (Marrissa Safranyos) of Vandergrift , Bryce R. Maholic with Jessie Wagner of Frazer Twp., Great Grand Daughter Maisy M. Williams of Vandergrift and sister Jackie (John) Haven, of Sarver.

John was born September 9, 1939 in Birch River West Virginia.  He was employed for 32 years at Edgewater Steel in Oakmont Pa, Retiring in 1998. He was an active member of Center Methodist Church Donnellville Road, Natrona Heights Pa.

He was preceded in death by his Parents Marie Cocchi and John H. Williams and his very special Step Father Mario Cocchi.

One of Johns joys was being able to go to his church and do-little wood working projects to spread his joy and faith to others.

Driving 20 years volunteering his time to transport children to various hospitals in the Shrine system was one the most important and satisfying things in his life. He truly loved the children over the 20 years. That he drove for the Syria Shrine.

He was a member of Pollock Lodge #502 Free and Accepted Masons, Valley of Pittsburgh, Syria Shrine, Caravan #16, Hillbilly Clan #53 and Road Runners Patient Transportation Unit.

John also enjoyed the old hit and miss engine shows, the road was never too long to get there to smell those fumes or just talk to the other enthusiasts, he has owned many of these little oil buggers and made many good friends by displaying the engines.

His blue birds and finches will miss their daily treat, but I’m sure the dried worms and seed will show up this summer to feed his little friends.

If you are so inclined to donate something in John’s name, it would be greatly appreciated if you would, send donations to the SYRIA SHRINE Transportation Fund for the Syria Roadrunners. In care of Shriners Way Cheswick, Pa 15024.

Our family would like to thank the UPMC Hospice service for the wonderful care that John received. His Nurse Casey and his caregiver Lorraine were so kind and gentle with our John. I hope their lives are filled a thousand times with the love and care they gave my John.
