Joseph E Holas

Joseph E. Holas,95 formerly of Tarentum passed away Friday,Aug 24,2018 at Presbyterian Sr. Care,Oakmont. He was born April 6,1923 in Tarentum a son of the late Stephen and Medarda(Prehoda) Holas. Joseph was a graduate of Tarentum High School, the University of Notre Dame,and received his Masters in Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Joe was an engineer and retired from the Honeywell Corp subsidiary Bendix Corp in Indiana,and was a veteran of  WW#2 a Sgt in the Army serving in central Europe and the Pacific Theatre. Joe was an avid golfer and also enjoyed skiing in his younger years. He is survived by a cousin Barbara Mahaffey of Georgetown,SC. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 yrs, Anna Florence (Guyer) Holas in 2006, a brother Stephen Holas,and a sister Ann B. Ashton. Visitation will be on Monday,August 27th in the Duster Funeral Home,Inc. 347 East 10th Avenue,Tarentum,Pa15084 724-224-1526 from 9:00AM until the time of the Blessing Service at 10:00AM with Rev.Aaron J.
