Joseph J. Pavlik, Jr., 87, of Tarentum, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022 at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. He was born January 27, 1935 in Tarentum to the late Joseph J. and Pauline P. (Luckas) Pavlik, Sr. Joe lived his entire life in Tarentum, where he was a 1952 graduate of Tarentum High School and also a graduate of Robert Morris College. He was employed by Kopp Glass, Inc., Swissvale for 32 years in various roles, retiring in 1999 as President and CEO of the Company. He still served on the Board of Directors. He also served on the Board of Director’s for Blackburn’s, Inc. Joe was a Korean war veteran serving in the US Army Signal Corps. He was also a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum, where he was a member of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society for over 50 years and was also a member of the Tarentum Elks and Jednota. Joe enjoyed vacations with his family, golfing, playing euchre, reading, trips to the casino, going to the YMCA and taking care of his yard. He also enjoyed Thursday breakfast with the gang, but most of all enjoyed time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren, especially Saturday lunches.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jean K. (Elliott) Pavlik; daughters, Jody Pavlik (Bob Beers), of Tarentum and Susan (Rob) Pesci, of Natrona Heights; grandchildren, Dan Raszkowski, Katie (Nathan) Ehrlich and David Pesci, his best buddy. Also surviving is his sister Monika (Edward) Culleiton, of Tarentum, sister-in-law Arlene Pavlik, of Lower Burrell and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Dolores “Dolly” Belinotti and Ronald Pavlik and a brother-in-law Albert “Clum” Belinotti.
Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Christian funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 AM in Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights with Military Honors. Tarentum Elks will hold services in the funeral home Thursday at 6:30 PM.
