Julia Ann Falepaini

June 8, 1951 — October 15, 2023

Brackenridge

Julia Ann Falepaini, 72, of Brackenridge passed away suddenly in her home on October 15, 2023. Julie Ann, as her friends knew her, led a remarkable life, filled with diverse experiences and a deep love for her family. Julie Ann's journey took her from the close-knit community of Brackenridge, where she spent her formative years, to pursuing her dreams in the field of nursing. Her graduation from the Community College of Allegheny County School of Nursing marked the beginning of a lifelong commitment to care and compassion. In 1978, she embarked on an adventurous chapter of her life when she moved to the beautiful shores of Hawaii. It was there that she crossed paths with the love of her life, Aleki Falepaini, a man from the picturesque South Pacific Islands of Tonga. Their meeting was the start of their love story that spanned 25 years. In 1980, Julie Ann and Aleki sealed their love with marriage, and shortly thereafter, welcomed their first child, Benjamin. Life's journey eventually led them back to Western Pennsylvania, where they had two daughters, Kristen and Sara. She then continued her career at Citizens General Hospital until retirement. Julie Ann's faith was an integral part of her life, and she found solace and strength in attending Catholic Mass. She also found joy in attending her grandson’s sporting events and watching baseball. As a resident at Dalton’s Edge, she enjoyed making arts and crafts, bible study, and outings with the other residents. Her commitment to family was unwavering. Julie Ann was a devoted grandmother who took immense pride in her three grandsons. She cherished every moment with them and went to great lengths to be present in their lives, often dividing her time between Pittsburgh and Miami to ensure she was part of their every milestone and adventure. Julie Ann's legacy lives on through her kindness, her willingness to offer advice and a listening ear, and most of all, through the love she showered on her family. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, reminding us of the importance of family, faith, and unwavering love. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aleki Falepaini, and her mother, Julia Elosvai. She is survived by her children, Benjamin Falepaini of Miami, Florida. Kristen Falepaini (Jorge Alfonso) of Miami, Florida, Sara Falepaini of Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania and her grandchildren Julian Jiggetts, Alex Alfonso, and Dominic Alfonso.
