Kenneth McKenna, 85, of Creighton, passed away at home Tuesday, October 4, 2022 after being ill the past 10 months. He was born September 20, 1937 in Renton to the late James and Hannah (McClean) McKenna. Kenneth lived most of his life in Creighton. He was a 1955graduate of Plum High School and married Ronna Eberline McKenna in 1956. He served in the US Navy from 1955-1959 and was stationed in Malta, Iceland and Brunswick, Maine. He also served in the Navy Reserves from 1959-61. He worked at Braeburn Alloy Steel for 41 years. He was President of the Steel workers Union at Braeburn and also worked part time as a policeman for East Deer Township for 10 years. He was a member of Janes United Methodist Church, Creighton and served as a Trustee. Kenneth coached East Deer Little League for many years. He was a member of Creighton Hose VFD and Creighton Slovak club. He was also an Allegheny County Democratic Committee person. Survivors include his wife Ronna (Eberline) McKenna; his 4 children, K. Daniel (Carrie) McKenna, Jennifer (Mike) Giza, Shawn (Ellen) McKenna and Carrie (Jeff) McGlynn. Also surviving are his grandchildren Jason Giza, Timothy McKenna, Jeffrey (Erin DuCarme) McKenna, Matthew (Olivia) McKenna, Stephen McKenna, Hillary (Cody) Taylor, Andrew McGlynn; great grandchildren Grace Giza, Faith Giza, Ginny, Bentley, Aldyn, Casey and Rory Taylor. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by grandchildren Dawn Giza and Dylan McGlynn, great grandchild Edward Jason Giza and 2 brothers James and Gilbert McKenna. Services will be held on Friday at 11 AM in Janes United Methodist Church, Creighton with Rev. Dora Odarenko, officiating. Burial will follow in Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum.
