Louis F. "Lou" Jones

Louis F. (Lou) Jones, passed away at home on July 4, 2025, in Freeport, PA, at the age of 86. Born on February 15, 1939, in Tarentum, PA. Lou dedicated 33 years of his life working as a steelworker at Allegheny Ludlum Steel, a testament to his hard work and commitment to his craft.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving at Minot Air Force Base, ND; and member of Center Church, Fawn Twp. and Outdoor Life Lodge, Fawn Twp.

Lou was a man of many interests, including hunting, fishing, and gathering mushrooms and nuts. His love for the outdoors was paralleled by his enjoyment of wintering in Astor, Florida, where he spent over twenty years making lasting memories.

Lou leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years Luella and his sons, Jeff (New Kensington) and Scott (Akron, OH), along with daughters-in-law Cindy (Crytzer) and Niki (Lopane). He was a proud grandfather to Jeffrey Jr., Jenna (Michael), Ashely, Ryan, and Courtney (Jackson) and a great-grandfather to Michael, Aliyah, Collin, Carson, and Julia. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Elsie, Virginia (John), and Beverly. Lou was preceded in death by his son, Greg, his parents, William and Elsie, and his brothers, William, Robert, George, and Chuck.

Lou will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who brought joy and strength to his family and community. His legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
