Lysle S. Leathers

Lysle S. Leathers,97, formerly of Springdale, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at his home in North Versailles. He was born April 11, 1928 in Pitcairn, son of the late Walter and Mary (Wagner) Leathers. He was retired from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette composing room. Lysle proudly served his country in the Marine Corps Detachment 837 during WWII and US Army in the Korean War. He was a member of Springdale Post 764 American Legion. He attended the Grace Baptist Church in Monroeville. Lysle enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 64 years, Nancy L. (Loutsenhizer) Leathers. He was the loving husband of Helen Seibert, father of Daniel (Kathy) Leathers, of Sun City West, AZ, David (Carol Lee) Leathers, of Springdale, Kirby (April) Leathers, of Pataskala, OH and grandson Daniel (Lisa) Leathers, of Sewickley Hills, who he raised. He is also survived by four other grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Besides his parents and first wife he was preceded in death by his brother Ray Leathers.
