Mabel F. Copeland

Mabel F. Copeland, 89, of Harwick, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born December 17, 1928 in Harmarville to the late Walter W. and Bessie Mae (Moss) Garten, Sr. Mabel lived most of her life in Harwick. She was a homemaker and manager of the kitchen and swimming pool at the Pittsburgh Field Club for 18 years. Mabel was a member of Springdale United Methodist Church, Springdale Vets Auxiliary and the Allegheny Valley Fire Department.  She graduated from Springdale High School in 1946. Mabel enjoyed bingo, playing cards and especially enjoyed her family.

Survivors include her children, Lydia D. Muri, San Diego, CA, Vickie J. (Dennie) Runyan, Cheswick and Billie Jean (Barry) Plance, Plum Boro; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William G. “Red” Copeland in 2012, two sons William Jr. and Melvin Copeland, and grandsons Mark Muri and Bradlee Toth and her siblings Walter W. Garten, Jr. and Irene Kish.

            Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc 347 E 10^th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 AM with Rev. Douglas A.
