Margaret B. Anderson, 97, of Tarentum, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. She was born November 30, 1922 in North Buffalo Township, a daughter of the late Albert and Maetta Belle (Alter) Mainhart. Margaret lived the past 10 years in Tarentum and prior to that most of her life in Freeport where she was a homemaker. She was also a waitress and Supervisor at Eat N Park in Natrona Heights and Harmarville. Margaret was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge and a 1940 graduate of Freeport High School. She enjoyed traveling, bowling and was a Steeler and Penguin fan. Margaret will be missed dearly by her family.
Survivors includer her children Linda L. (Donald) Rummel, of Brackenridge, Rev. James Leroy (Kathleen) Anderson, of Halifax, Nova Scotia; grandchildren Ann Rummel, of Tarentum, Kevin (Rhonda) Rummel, of Upper St. Clair, Kiersten and Karen Anderson, of Halifax, Nova Scotia and a great grandchild Kaelyn Rummel. Also surviving are her siblings Paul Mainhart and Ruth Henry, both of Freeport and sister in laws Esther Mainhart and Blanche Sell. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Leroy W. Anderson in 1991 and 2 brothers Albert Mainhart Jr. and Gerald Mainhart.
Private family visitation Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 11 AM in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 with Rev. Gregory L. Spencer, officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. Family suggests contributions to the Make A Wish Foundation or Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge.
