Margaret D. Planavsky, 83, of Tarentum, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Belair Nursing and Rehab Center, Lower Burrell. She was born June 9, 1935 in Tarentum to the late Anton and Christina (Lascek) Planavsky. Margaret lived her entire life in Tarentum where she was a retired Assembly Line worker at the former Liberty Mirror, Brackenridge. Margaret was a member of Holy Martyrs Church and the Jednota, both of Tarentum. She graduated in 1953 from Tarentum High school and enjoyed bingo, travelling to casinos, dancing and music.
Margaret is survived by a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Paul A. “Lefty”, John, Rudolph, Anthony and Frank Planavsky, 3 sisters Mary Cambal, Mildred Wojcik and Evelyn Planavsky and 3 infant siblings at birth.
Visitation 6-8 PM Thursday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where a prayer service will be held Friday at 9:30 am followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 10AM in Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum with Rev. Thomas L. Gillespie, MD, officiating. Burial in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Twp. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family. VISIT: dusterfh.com
