Mark A. Basista, 58, of Tarentum, passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2024 at his home. He was born November 18, 1965 in Harrison Township to Maureen C. (Bieranowski) Basista and the late John J. Basista, Jr.. Mark lived his entire life in Tarentum and was an assembly line worker for American Beverage Company in Verona for 6 years and prior to that, he worked for Packaging Corporation of America in Pittsburgh for 28 years. Mark was a member of the former Holy Martyrs Church in Tarentum and in his free time enjoyed working around the house, playing the PA Lottery, spending time with his beloved family and friends, and was an avid Steelers fan.
Besides his mother, Mark is survived by his wife of 35 years Sondra L. (Brucker) Basista, son Matthew J. Basista of Woodbridge, Virginia, daughter Danielle L. (Victor) Nelson of Natrona Heights, and grandson Levi V. Nelson of Natrona Heights. Also surviving are his twin brother Michael J. (Georgene) Basista of Russellton, brothers Jeffrey J. (Susan) Basista of Allison Park, Gregory M. (Rebecca) Basista of Tarentum, and David P. Basista of Tarentum, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his father John in 1984.
