Mary Eileen Hartzel, 78, of Natrona Heights, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born October 5, 1947 in Harrison Township to the late Arthur J. and Dorothy (Brady) McConville. Mary lived the past 17 years in Natrona Heights and prior to that Malvern, PA for 31 years. She was a homemaker and was of the Mennonite faith. Mary was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and was a Lay pastor with her husband in their church in Malvern, with meetings in their home. She graduated from Har Brack High School and Franco’s Beauty Academy, New Kensington. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Richard G. Hartzel, Sr.; stepchildren Tammy Lynn (Frank) Alleva, of Downingtown, PA and Richard G. (Suzanne) Hartzel, Jr., of Spring City, PA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Brooke Hartzel, Richard G. Hartzel, III, Daniel Alleva and Dominic Alleva. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her six brothers Andy, Edward, Fred, Arthur, Patrick and Lee McConville and her two sisters Rose Chelko and Jane Delaney.
