Mary Jane “Janie” Furmanski, 83, of Winfield Twp., passed away Monday, May 2, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospice of Concordia, Cabot. She was born February 13, 1939 in East Deer Township to the late George and Mabel (Hickenlooper) Seronka. Mary Jane lived most of her life in East Deer Twp. where she was a homemaker and a member of Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church. She graduated from East Deer Frazer High School and enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling and dancing. Mary Jane also enjoyed watching old classic movies and was a Pittsburgh sports fan. She especially enjoyed her family, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Jayne E. (Robert) Barch, of Springdale, Michael J. (Denise) Lassinger, of West Deer Twp., Dorothy E. (Frank) Moxie, of Winfield Twp. and George E. (Kelly) Lassinger, of Springdale. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a sister Cheryl McClain, of Vandergrift. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Julian R. “Big Man” Furmanski and 2 brothers George and Gerald Seronka.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend services for Mrs. Furmanski on Thursday May 5 at 11 AM in Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church.
