Mary Jo Pleva,75 of South Buffalo Twp,formerly of Tarentum passed away Friday, March 18, 2022 at her home following a 1-year illness. She was born October 30, 1946 in Harrison Twp, a daughter of the late Albert & Mary (Vild) Thompson.
Mary Jo lived the past 15 yrs. in South Buffalo Twp, and prior to that she lived in Tarentum. She was a homemaker but had also worked as a Pharmacy clerk for the former Thrift Drugs and Eckerd Drug stores.
Mary Jo was a member of St. Mary Mother of God R.C. Church, Freeport and also was a member of the Tarentum VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, her cat “Dottie”, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family, children, grand and Great Granddaughter.
She is survived by her children, Caroline A. (Eric) Binner, Natrona Heights, Melody J. Booker, South Buffalo Twp,and her grandchildren, Mick and Ellie Binner, Baylee and Nina Booker, Braylon and Neikko Woodward, and Great Granddaughter, Keilee Jean Riley-Booker.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband, Stanley Gene Pleva in 2014, and a brother, John Thompson.
Visitation will be Monday, March 21 from 2:00 PM until the time of the Blessing service at 6:00 PM in the Duster Funeral Home,Inc. 347 East 10th Avenue,Tarentum,Pa. 15084 (724) 224-1526 with her Pastor Monsignor Gilbert Gente officiating.
