Mary Kanakis

Mary Kanakis, 88, of Brackenridge, passed away Friday January 17, 2020 at Orchards of Saxonburg. She was born July 6, 1931 in Brackenridge to the late Leonard and Virginia (Vena) Tartamella. Mary lived her entire life in Brackenridge where she was a homemaker. She was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights and graduate of Tarentum High School.

Survivors include her sons David J. Kanakis, Brackenridge and Anthony J. Kanakis, Connecticut and a brother Samuel (Kathleen) Kanakis, Aurora, OH. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Alexander E. Kanakis in 1983; a son Michael A. Kanakis and daughter Gigi Baxter; 3 brothers Joseph, Anthony and Michael Tartamella and sisters Caroline Simak and Joann Kucinski.

Burial was private in Mt. Airy Cemetery.
