She left her work at the bank to raise her three children but after they all were in school, she returned to the same bank 15 years later and worked in the loan department. A devout Christian throughout her life, Mary Ann and her family were active members of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brackenridge, PA for many years. Mary Ann was a member of the church’s Altar Guild, sang in the choir, and was a member of many groups and committees within the life of the church. While living in Granby, CT, Mary Ann and John attended St. John Lutheran Church in Westfield, MA.
In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and embroidery and made sweaters, afghans, and clothes for her family and friends. She won many ribbons for her knitting by hand and knitting on machines and was recognized nationally by Herrschners Catalog for her work. After retiring to Granby, CT, Mary Ann enjoyed going to events at the Granby Senior Center, dancing with her husband, and playing cards.
