Mary Negrey, 92, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 at St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born October 31, 1925 in Conemaugh, PA, Cambria County to the late Michael and Mary (Ozimick) Gelles. Mary lived most of her life in Penn Hills and the past two years in Aurora, Colorado. She was a homemaker and also a caterer at Garden City Fire Hall, Monroeville. Mary was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Tarentum. She enjoyed crafts, baking, cooking and volunteering for Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Blum (Gary) Jensen, Shaler Twp., Mary Jo (Wayne) Meyers, New Kensington and Michele Cigler (Henk) Schenkel, Aurora, CO; 3 grandchildren Michael, Tony (Alli) and David and 4 great grandchildren Joey, Lauryn, Chloe and Max. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Negrey in 1982; brothers Michael, John, George, Charlie, Andrew, Paul, Alex and Nick Gelles and sister Ann Loomis.
Visitation 6-8PM Sunday and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where a Panachida will be held at 9:30 am Tuesday followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Tarentum with Rev. Wesley M. Mash, officiating. Private entombment in Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Parastas will be held in the FH Mon at 7PM.
