Matthew John Markey

November 3, 1973 — May 29, 2026

Natrona Heights

With deep love and gentle remembrance, we announce the sudden passing of Matthew John Markey, a beloved son, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle.

Born on November 3, 1973, in the City of Pittsburgh, he was a lifelong resident of the Natrona Heights and Brackenridge communities. He graduated from Highlands High School and Dean Technical Institute and dedicated his career to Norelco Corporation. He was a member of the Brackenridge American Legion and remained grounded throughout his life in his Catholic faith.

Matt was known for his quiet nature, humble spirit, and deeply reflective heart. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting, fishing, and riding dirt bikes, especially alongside his son, Angelo. He was also a loyal sports fan who passionately supported his favorite Pittsburgh teams. He will be remembered for his genuine kindness, gentle humor, and warm wit.

He is survived by his parents, Vincent J. and Arlene Markey; his sister, Michelle Markey; his brother, Michael V. Markey (Suzanne); and his children, Alexis, Kylee, and Angelo. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Rylie, Aniyah, Leo, and Naliyah; and his niece and nephew, Samantha and Vincent. He found daily comfort in the companionship of his cats, Rowsy, Winston, and Bella.

Matt will be deeply missed and remembered with enduring affection. A Christian Funeral mass was celebrated Friday, June 5, 2026 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington. Arrangements by Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. VISIT: dusterfuneralhomeinc.com
