Maurice Trent

Maurice Trent a culinary genius, poet, singer/songwriter passed away at age 71 at Manor care health on Tuesday April 28, 2026.  He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, April 28, 1955, He was the son of late Norma Jean Anthony and Maurice Trent. Late stepfather Sylvester Anthony. Maurice was a graduate of Pittsburgh culinary institute. He worked his way up from sous chef to executive chef at embassy suites of Moon township. He shared his passion for cooking within the community, he catered numerous events including weddings, family reunions, and Coraopolis community days. He had a great sense of humor, very witty. Everyone loved to be in his presence. 

Even through his pain. He carried himself with poise and grace always staying positive. From The outside looking in you wouldn't have known what he carried. He is going to be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 30 years Carol Strasser, and his eldest daughter Casey Lynn Strasser. 

Daughters, Kelly Strasser and Chloe Trent. Grandchildren, Malachi, John, and Heaven Owens, Courage Trent, Wisdom Strasser, Truth Trent, Love Strasser, and Mercy Hamilton.

He will be missed by his beloved Sisters, Deborah Anthony, and Sylvett Wideman "Joe". Brothers, Kurt, Enrico, Ethan "Cindy", and Micah Anthony "Denise", nieces and nephews, his church family and friends.

A memorial gathering for Maurice will be held on Sunday, May 17,2026 at 11 AM at The Youth Department, 329 9th Street, McKeesport, PA 15182.
