Melody L. Schreckengost

Melody L. Schreckengost, 60, of Buffalo Township, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot. She was born August 24, 1960 in Indiana, PA to Beverly Geppert, of Freeport and the late Erich Geppert. Melody lived most of her life in Allegheny Township and was a Caregiver for Care at Home. Melody graduated from Apollo Ridge High School in 1979 and enjoyed crafting ,scrapbooking and traveling with her family and friends. She was a foodie and loved trying different foods and visiting different wineries and casinos.  Melody was a member at Generations House of Worship where she launched and cared for both the coffee team and clean team. She will always be remembered for her beautiful and welcoming smile, her kind heart and her serving spirit.

            Survivors include her husband of 13 years, Richard L. Schreckengost, of Buffalo Twp.; her children Stacy L. (Richard) Gray, of Natrona Heights, Joseph M. (Lisa) Comfort, of Meyersdale, PA and Somer A. Comfort, of Somerset; stepchildren Richard P. Schreckengost, of Colorado and Tara (Joshua Garvin) Hilliard, of Kittanning; grandchildren Lucas Bernstein, Joseph Comfort, Aurora Belle Comfort, Addison Carmela Bernstein, Devon Perry- Schreckengost, Paige Hilliard, Emma Jo Hilliard, Bentley Garvin, Jeremy and Aleksia Gray and a great granddaughter Atlee Bay Lake. Also surviving are her siblings, Erich (Diane Pupino) Geppert, of Poland, OH, Erich Geppert, of Apollo, Greg Geppert, of Verona, Crystal (Russ) Leonarski, of Apollo, Beverly (Michael Pityk) Kardos, of New Kensington, Scarlet (Ricky) Brandt, of Tarentum and Kevin Geppert, of Tarentum. Besides her father she was preceded in death by a stepson Joseph Schreckengost.

            Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10^th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Services will be held on Friday at 10 AM in Generations House of Worship, Brackenridge with Pastor Nick Chybrzynski, officiating. Everyone please meet at church. Burial will be private. Please adhere to CDC guidelines of social distancing and masks are required.
