Michael J. Kostie, 47, of Winfield Township, passed away unexpectedly at home, Wednesday, May 26, 2021. He was born April 7, 1974, of Harrison Township, to Rebecca (Carney) Kostie, of Freeport, and the late Albert Kostie. Michael has lived the past 10 years in Winfield Township and was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. He was a top-rated, nationally-recognized salesman for Stair Busters, Lifeway Mobility, Clinton Township. Michael was a 1992 graduate of Highlands High School and a volunteer fireman for Buffalo Township Fire Department, where he was the current treasurer and former second lieutenant. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, camping and scuba diving. Michael enjoyed serving his community and took pride in being the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus while visiting children on the fire truck. Besides his mother, survivors include his wife, Kylie D. (Diller) Kostie; children, Elizabeth (Jon Payne) Kostie, of Vandergrift, and Steven Kostie, of Vandergrift; stepchildren, Ella and Lucas Freshwater, of Cabot; and brother, Charlie Kostie, of Freeport. A memorial gathering will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Burial will be private. Visit dusterfh.com.
