Molose “Mitch” Eror, 96, of Natrona Heights and formerly of Tarentum, passed away to the loving arms of Jesus after a brave battle of cancer on January 7, 2021. He was born October 28, 1924 in Francis Mine, West Virginia to the late Mile and Mary (Bobrick) Eror. He was raised in Renton, PA and was one of 8 children. He served 3 years in the Air Force as a Military policeman, and later as a Paratrooper in the Infantry in the 82nd Airborne during WWII. He worked in Logans Ferry Coal mine as a machine operator before its closing, and then as an auto salesman before retiring where he received several awards for sales leadership. Mitch enjoyed telling stories of his travels across the United States and before he met his wife Florence Popkowski, with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage together before she died in 2003. He loved to hunt and fish and especially enjoyed going to his sister’s camp in Penfield. He was an avid fan of his grandsons when they played baseball and football in High School. He also enjoyed all his grandchildren calling and talking on the phone with them to find out how they were doing. He loved to sing. Mitch was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #226 in Brackenridge, and the VFW in Emporium, PA. He was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Holy Martyrs Worship site where he attended until he was no longer able to. Then he attended mass everyday by watching EWTN and praying the rosary.
Survivors include his loving family, son William (Jerry) Eror and daughter Michele (Larry) Struhar. Grandchildren Lance Eror, Elise (Sean) Weamer, L. Matthew (Melissa) Struhar, Scott Struhar, Bryan (Lisa) Struhar, 7 great grandchildren Liam and Dean Weamer, Sydney (fiancé Sean Lokar) Struhar, Madaline (fiancé Caleb Graff) Struhar, Landon, Jace, Tessa, Struhar and another due in July and a great great granddaughter Meadow Lokar. Also surviving are his caring sisters, Kathryn Koban, Oxford, Mississippi, and Mildred (Merle) Balkovc, of Penfield, PA. Also surviving are very many loving nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Florence, his brothers Michael, George, Eli and Sam, and a sister Stella Demko.
His family would like to thank his physician, Dr. Shin, Allegheny Valley Hospital, Platinum Ridge Care Center and all the staff who lovingly cared for him. His friends and especially Irene Compertore whom helped care for him with great concern.
Private family visitation was held in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Christian funeral mass was celebrated in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights. Burial with military honors was in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Twp.
