Neal E. Kowola, 74, of Natrona Heights, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. He was born July 19, 1947 in Natrona Heights to the late Fred and Dorothy (Mueller) Kowola. Neal lived most of his life in Natrona Heights where he was an 8th Grade History teacher for Highlands Middle School for 30 years. He was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, St. Joseph Church, Natrona and the Knights of Columbus, Natrona. Neal was a 1965 graduate of St. Joseph High School and Penn State University. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and outdoor activities. He also coached JV football for Highlands High school and was an avid Penn State basketball and football fan.
Survivors include his sister, Carol K. Wilhelm, of Brackenridge; nephew Bryan M. (Rebecca Cornuet) Wilhelm and grand nephew Brayden M. Wilhelm, of Brackenridge. Also surviving is his former wife, Barbara Mason, of Natrona Heights. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Bertrand Wilhelm.
Visitation 6-8 PM Thursday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where a blessing service will be held Friday at 11 am. Burial will be private in St. Joseph Cemetery, Natrona Heights. The family suggests that visitors please wear a mask. VISIT: dusterfh.com
