Olga Miller

Olga Miller, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, of Fawn Twp., PA passed away on February 24, 2018 at age 93.  Olga was the last remaining member of the Brackenridge Avenue Davidek’s Market family of Melichor and Antonia Talda Davidek.  A 1942 graduate of Har-Brack High School, Olga received a nursing degree from Allegheny General Hospital Nursing School and shortly thereafter married her loving husband of 53 years, John L. Miller, who preceded her in death in 2009.  Olga was a devoted wife, mother, and expert homemaker, who eventually began work outside the home as a reading teacher’s aide in the Highlands school district. She later managed affairs at Peterson’s Potting Shed and served as a volunteer at Allegheny Valley Hospital.  Olga maintained a lifelong enthusiasm for reading and doing crossword puzzles, and spent many fruitful hours in the kitchen, cooking and baking for family and friends.  She was an avid indoor and outdoor gardener, and delighted in home decorating, refinishing furniture, gaming, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.

 She is survived by her six children, John (Flo),Cabot, Robert (Jenny), Brenenton, WA, Patrick, New Kensington, Mary Beth, Oakmont, Thomas, Buffalo Twp.,and Steven (Kelly), Grove City as well as six grandchildren (Jarrod, Damon, Becky, Ben, Daniel, and Sarah) and four great-grandchildren (Kaya, Molly, Abbey, and Roman).  Olga was an engaging conversationalist and generous inspiration to everyone she met.  May she remain in our hearts always. Besides her parents Melicher and Antonia (Talda) Davidek and husband John L. Miller she was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10^th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where prayer services will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 am followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 10 AM at Olga’s parish, Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum with Rev.
